Welcome back to another edition of the Digital Newspaper & we hope everyone is having a great weekend so far.
As you may have noticed, we missed this weeks news & Deep Dives. Let me give a brief overview on the reasoning.
With regards to news, there really wasn’t all too much worth highlighting without really milking and exaggerating it, in other words dropping quality for quantity.
That doesn’t cut it here at the Web3 Alert, hence we’ll be bundling some of the news this week with this upcoming Tuesday.
As for our Deep Dive, we’ve decided to compile this into a 3 part series over the course of the coming week due to the amount and detail of contents to cover with DLT in FinTech.
We appreciate everyone for their patience and understanding as we continue to get back on track.
But enough small talk, let’s get to our focus for today!
Today we’ll be giving an overview on the importance around digital identification (ID), and how blockchain can make this both secure, applicable, with important projects which are looking to develop Digital IDs.
With the increasing reliance of digital technologies, and growing use of services which require authentication of users, there has been an exponential growth in need for technologies which are able to quickly, effectively, and securely ensure the correct person is accessing digital information worldwide.
More recently we have hugely benefited from the convenience of digital technologies, such as finance, banking, government services, entertainment, enabling gains in productivity and efficiency like never before.
However, increasingly clear are the security concerns around our digital information, including leaking of personal information, passwords, and breaches in confidential information.
This has put into question whether current approaches to securing our personal information online has been truly secure all along.
Fortunately digital security is one of the most important problems blockchain projects are looking to tackle.
There are many projects, which aim to provide solutions which are not only able to securely identify individuals on the web, but also provide increased security from threats which we are constantly exposed online.
Accenture, a leading worldwide information technology (IT) and consulting company, has begun exploring options to implement blockchain digital identification in use cases such as travel, employment, healthcare, and many other areas.
It’s clear we are increasing in reliance on trusted digital identification technologies.
This will become increasingly important as the technologies become increasingly relying on a secure experience and more data continues to be moved online & soon on-chain.
So without any further delays, let’s dive right into the focus of Digital IDs within the DLT industry!
